Members of the Grizzly Firefighters Crew 31 from Salem, Oregon were part of the massive firefighting operation that battled the Northern California Kincade Fire in October 2019. As a ground crew, their job was to battle any re-ignitions of the fire literally by hand by chain-sawing brush, digging out underground flames and hand-pumping water into fresh ditches. The Kincade Fire burned 77,758 acres according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
